Palm Springs man arrested after yelling at people going to RoboLights

A Palm Springs man was arrested recently after police say he created a disturbance just outside of Robolights.

Friedrich Koenig, 58, was arrested around 8:30 at night on December 3, according to the Desert Sun. The newspaper noted that Koenig has been vocal critic of the unique holiday attraction.

A witness said that Koenig never walked onto the property, but yelled at people as they were going in, trying to convince them to leave. Police say when they attempted to detain Koenig, he resisted.  Authorities also say he was under the influence of alcohol.

This will be the last year RoboLights will be at its current location on Granvia Valmonte – as the city struck a deal with artist Kenny Irwin to move the light display somewhere else beginning in 2019.
