Note: if you are looking to avoid Desert X “spoilers” stop reading here.  If not, carry on.

The Lowdown: Remember 2017 when there were Desert X billboards along Gene Autry Trail, well, that’s happening again…but different! So do note, there’s really nowhere to park, so check it out while you drive by.

There are four billboards altogether – so, yes, somewhere a Lamar salesperson is out spending their fat commission check – and they can be seen as you travel north on Gene Autry between Vista Chino and the 10 Freeway – and not too far from Paul Bar, one of our favorite Palm Springs bars , so plan your trip to make a stop and have a CosmoPaul or Frozen Sidecar for me while you’re there.

If you really want to take it in, there is a shoulder on the west side of the road where you could pull over to snap a pic or two.

As for what is shown on the boards, according to Romero, the images feature “four special time-traveling visitors from the Chemehuevi who have come to their ancestral lands of their sister tribes in the Coachella Valley.”

Enjoy the billboards and enjoy Desert X.
