All schools in the Los Angeles Unified School District are closed today after an electronic threat was sent to a board member.
Authorities will spend the day searching all 900 schools after receiving the threat, which mentioned backpacks and packages.
“I think it’s important to take this precaution based on what has happened recently and what has happened in the past,” LAUSD Superintendent Ramon Cortines told the LA Times.
Officials said the threat came in electronic form and was many to numerous but unspecified campuses, reports the Times. As a result, they made the decision to close them all down for the day.
