Barbara Wu, the former UCR student who plotted to kidnap, torture, and murder at least 2 ex-boyfriends was set free from jail this week after just 20 months – but she told a TV reporter there is no need to worry fellas because she is a whole 2 years older and more mature now.

Wu told ABC 7, “I was young. I was 21 at the time so I am 23 now, so I’m older and I have a more mature way of like approaching problems like that now and looking at things.”

Ahhhh, of course. We all did things when we were 21 we regret right?. I drank too many kamikaze shots on my 21st birthday and was really hungover the next day, while Wu plotted to kill a couple of guys who broke up with her – same thing right? Oh youth.

Wu, who was accused of trying to woo a current boyfriend into kidnapping an ex, sticking needles into his fingertips, and then murdering him says she was just a little mixed up because that was 2 years ago and she is way more grown up now.  “At the time, I was young and naive and I was childish and I said things I didn’t mean, and I wasn’t very smart about who I was speaking to,” she said.

Wu wants to return to college and complete her degree in political science. Yup, she wants to get into politics. Perfect.
