Looking to have a wedding in Palm Springs and the Coachella Valley? Get ready to spend some cash for it.
The Knot 2018 Real Weddings Study surveyed 14,000 brides and grooms and used the info to rank the most expensive places in the United Stated to get married – and coming in as the 19th most expensive: “Palm Springs / Desert Communities.”
The average cost for a wedding in the Coachella Valley was found to be $39,504 – which is about $6,000 more than the cost the average American wedding, which was found to be $33,931 – and more than half of the average household income in Palm Springs ($62,239).
The study found the most expensive place to get married to be Manhattan, with the average wedding costing a staggering $96,910 in the Big Apple. For those looking to save a bit, the least expensive place to get married was Idaho, with the average wedding costing $16,366.
The survey also has some other interesting tidbits such as the average cost of a wedding gown ($1,631), average number of guests at a wedding (136), and average number of drinks your aunt Marie is going to have at the open bar (8).
