A man attempting to run over his girlfriend with a stolen car in Los Angeles ended up crashing the vehicle through the front of an Indian restaurant.
The crash happened at about 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the East India Grill in the Fairfax district of Los Angeles. A witness told ABC 7 what happened:
Witness Gem Aggabao said she heard a screeching car and a woman screaming that her boyfriend was driving the car that tried to hit her. Aggabao added that the woman said they had fought at a gas station and he started threatening her when she walked away.
The woman was not hit by the car, which had been reported stolen, and no one in the restaurant, which was open at the time, was injured.
The driver of the vehicle fled on foot and is being sought for allegedly stealing the vehicle and for assault with a deadly weapon – with the weapon being the car.
