The #CharlieCharlieChallenge Was Just a Viral Marketing Campaign for a Movie

Over Memorial Day weekend, The #CharlieCharlieChallenge went viral – as millions of people tried to summon a “Mexican demon” named “Charlie” using a sheet of paper and some pencils. Turns out, it was just all part of a viral ad campaign for a movie.

Some took the challenge very, very seriously (KESQ even did a story on it, because they have to scare you during sweeps month or something), but they can all relax as the video below shows, it was all just to promote some movie called “The Gallows”.

The internet is, once again, just a huge lie.
