In a move that was not unexpected, but still sucks, the city of Palm Springs has announced the cancellation of this year’s 4th of July fireworks show in the city.
The city is facing major budget issues and, you may have heard, there is also a pretty terrible virus going around, so a costly event that promotes bringing people close together wasn’t a really wise thing to go forward with this year.
At the same time, we can all be bummed it’s not happening and can hope that we get back to exploding shit in the air for ‘Merica soon enough.
4th of July fireworks cancelled: In an effort to stop the spread of COVID-19, continue to flatten the curve and keep residents and visitors safe, the City of Palm Springs would like to notify the community that this year’s Fourth of July fireworks spectacular has been cancelled.
