Newport Beach police are investigating a road rage incident in Newport Beach in which a guy totally lost his shit during a confrontation with a cyclist.
“I ought to smack you so fucking good. If there wasn’t any witnesses you know what I’d do to you? I’d pull Trump on you,” the driver, identified by CBS 2 as 66-year-old Robert Lewis, says to the man on the bike.
The argument seems to be over sharrow, a.k.a. shared-lane marking, which is an arrow that designates a lane to be shared by bicyclists and motorists.
The video is filled with obscenity, name calling, and threats from Lewis, who says he is embarrassed for what happened..
“I’m just an old surfer, knucklehead, and I do apologize for using the words that I used,” he told CBS 2.
Newport Beach police told ABC 7 they are investigating.
