Living in the Coachella Valley in August can be grueling. The year’s hottest month almost never gives any relief – with scorching daytime highs averaging 107 and even lows most nights only sneaking down into the upper 80s and 90s. But, the final weekend of August is going to be a little different. Yup, it’s cooling off people! Now yes, that still means triple digit heat, but barely – and for this time of the year in the desert, we will gladly take it.
Both Friday and Saturday are forecasted to see a high temp of 101, with Sunday sneaking up to 104 (some weather guessers are even calling for sub-100 degree temps on Saturday). Better though is the overnight lows, which are expected to drop down into the low 70s – meaning you might be able to actually turn off your A/C and open the windows for a bit.
After that, things shoot back up again – with highs of 108 on Monday and 109 on Tuesday. So enjoy the cooler temps while you can.
