Congratulations! You just survived the hottest year in Palm Springs, well, at least they started recording these things back in 1922. Sure, your air conditioning made you electric bills insanely high and all your shirts now have sweat stains, but you survived. How about celebrating with a nice cold beverage or ice cream?
For those around during the ridiculous hot summer, this probably won’t come as much of a surprise – as the season saw a whopping 19 days with a temperature over 110 degrees and four miserable, awful, terrible days with a temperature of 122.
The National Weather Service noted the record year for warmest temps, also noting that Thermal saw it’s hottest year ever, Anza Borrego it’s second wamest, and Riverside it’s 4th most scorching year.
2017 was the warmest year on record in portions of the Coachella Valley. Check out how other sites placed here. #cawx #PalmSprings #Thermal pic.twitter.com/CDcBks8kdw

And it looks like 2018 could already be giving 2017 a run for its money as Tuesday is set to see a high temperature of 82 degrees, much hotter than normal for this time of year.
