The City of Coachella is debuting an art piece known for being part of last year’s Coachella fest this week downtown.
“Etherea” has been installed at the intersection of Cesar Chavez Street and 6th Street. The piece was created by Italian artist Edoardo Tresoldi and was at the Empire Polo Field during the 2018 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.
The city worked out a deal to obtain the “Etherea” this past summer.
“We are excited and proud to add this significant work to our growing arts community,” Coachella Mayor Steven Hernandez said in a news release. “This offers residents and visitors another opportunity to explore and celebrate creativity here in Coachella.”
Etherea will be open to the public following the dedication ceremony on Wednesday at 10:30 am.
