A new festival dedicated to celebrating the Coachella Valley’s date industry will debut this November with food, live music and, you guessed it, tons of dates.
As the Coachella Valley produces over 90% of the country’s dates, a festival does make sense – and, yes, there is the Date Festival already, but that seems more about carnival rides and fried Twinkies at this point.
Headlining the Date Harvest Festival will be Los Lonely Boys. The festival promises other musical acts as well. In addition, there will be date-inspired dishes from celebrity chefs Aarti Seqeuira, Stuart O’Keeffe and a few surprise guest appearances.
Food vendors will include festival pros: Spicy Pie (!), Spin Spun – Cotton Candy, Dad’s BBQ, Mason’s Den, LA Street Kitchen, and Bulgogi Truck and all will be doing a date-related menu item.
In addition to the music and food, the Date Harvest Festival will feature date tastings, demos and information from local growers, a petting zoo, interactive tractor display, ferris wheel, crafts and merchandise for sale, and lots of samples.
The event is scheduled from noon to 10 pm on Saturday November 9, 2019 at the Rancho Las Flores Event Venue in Coachella. Tickets are $20, kids under 12 are free.
