Two men and two dogs are dead in thousand Palms after a crash involving an SUV and a golf cart.
KESQ reports that the crash occurred at 3:22 p.m. on Desert Moon Drive and Ramon Road. According to The Desert Sun, 2 men and 2 dogs who were in the golf cart are dead. The driver of the Mercedes SUV was a 32-year-old woman who was not injured.
UPDATE 5:17 p.m.: The CHP told KESQ that the SUV and the golf cart were driving in the same direction on Desert Moon Drive when the collision happened. Officers told the TV station that speed was a factor in the crash and police say that the driver of the SUV was driving 50 mph in a 25 mph zone.

UPDATE 6:18 p.m.: Local 2 is reporting that the driver of the SUV has been arrested.
