A hiker who went in Joshua Tree National Park on Sunday was found alive inside the park on Thursday.
Paul Hanks, 54, was visiting the park from San Diego. A search began when he failed to show up at his hotel room on Sunday. Officials found his car parked in the Maze Loop lot.

Search and rescue teams found Hanks conscious and alert on Thursday according to a Facebook post. He was transported by helicopter to a hospital due to injuries from falling 20 feet.
Last October, two hikers were found dead in the Maze Loop area after a three month search.
