Those who can afford a $2,500 VIP Platinum ticket to the Palm Springs Film Festival Gala will be joined this year by actress Cate Blanchett – who will be given the Desert Palm Achievement, Actress, Award.
The festival, which is given $350,000 in taxpayer dollars by the City of Palm Springs annually, begins on January 2nd. For those who lacked the sufficient funds to get into the gala (minimum ticket to the sold out event was $350) to see celebrities like Blanchett (who is really a great actress), the city is usually kind enough to set some bleachers up, behind a fence and across the street, where you to watch them get out of the car.
