Woman sought after bag of seven puppies dumped in Coachella

Officials are seeking the public’s help in finding a woman seen on surveillance video leaving a bag containing seven puppies behind Napa Auto Parts in Coachella on Thursday.

Video shows a woman pull up in a Jeep next to a trash bin outside the store on Grapefruit Blvd. about 1 pm, officials told the Desert Sun.  The woman gets out of the vehicle with a plastic bag and proceeds to drop it into a recycling dumpster.

A passerby saw what happened and told a store employee,  who called the Riverside County Department of Animal Services.

The puppies, believed to be terrier mix and only three days old, were brought to a Riverside County animal campus to be cared for.

The woman is being sought on suspicion of animal cruelty.

Anyone with information should call Riverside County Animal Services at (951) 358-7387.
