Officials are seeking the public’s help in finding a woman seen on surveillance video leaving a bag containing seven puppies behind Napa Auto Parts in Coachella on Thursday.
Video shows a woman pull up in a Jeep next to a trash bin outside the store on Grapefruit Blvd. about 1 pm, officials told the Desert Sun. The woman gets out of the vehicle with a plastic bag and proceeds to drop it into a recycling dumpster.

A passerby saw what happened and told a store employee, who called the Riverside County Department of Animal Services.

The puppies, believed to be terrier mix and only three days old, were brought to a Riverside County animal campus to be cared for.

The woman is being sought on suspicion of animal cruelty.
