The new Coachella Valley town of Paradise Valley has already made a huge mistake

Did you hear? The Coachella Valley may be adding a whole new town! But, the developers have already made a huge error.

More on the big snafu below, first some background.

The new development seeking approval would be eight miles east of Coachella at the southern tip of Joshua Tree National Park. It would be on both sides of Interstate 10 between the Cactus City rest area and Box Canyon Road.  More details via The Desert Sun:

The project, which developers call Paradise Valley, proposes 8,500 new homes and about 1.38 million square feet of commercial space on 1,800 acres of land. Developers said the project would be built in five phases, but declined to describe a time frame since getting approval from county and state agencies often takes years for projects this large.

Now, assuming that the community is allowed (and that is not a certainty with environmental, water, and other issues to be examined), they need to make one big change: Paradise Valley needs to become Paradise City!

Seriously, think of the number of people who would want to exit I-10 on the way to Phoenix to check out  “where the grass is green and the girls are pretty!” – and being that far out of town, those businesses are going to need a reason for people to stop there.

Hell, this sign alone could bring in tens of thousand of tourists a year:

Paradise City

While California does already have a community called Paradise in the Sierra Nevada mountains, it goes by “Town of Paradise” – so Paradise City is open!  And even if it wasn’t, New Jersey has two different Springfields, so anything goes!

Hell, maybe they could even get Axl and Slash (though probably not both at the same time) to make a music video in front of the sign!:

(yes, the photoshopping skills here are amazing. thanks for thinking that)

Paradise Valley seems kind of meh, Paradise City though…well…

Your move, developers.
