One man is dead and a woman injured after an officer-involved shooting in Cathedral City.
Police were called to Wishing Well Trail about 6:30 am, according to a tweet from Police Chief Travis Walker. A man came outside holding a gun when officers arrived and officers shot the man.
He was taken to the hospital where he died.

The man’s girlfriend was also injured and hospitalized, according to KESQ. The extent of her injuries are not known.
The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office is investigating.
