The Orange County Sheriff’s Department has set up a special email address for anyone who might think the bicycle that had snatched from them is one of the 1,000 plus bikes found earlier this month near the Santa Ana River.
Unfortunately, it appears that a majority of the bikes are beyond repair, according to the LA Times – with most of them being heavily damaged or stripped of parts.
The department told The Orange County Register that they are hoping the outreach can “reunite salvaged bicycles with their rightful owners” and possibly get more info for their investigation.
Still, if you think that you’re bike might be in there, you can send a description of it along with its serial number and an associated police report number to lostbike@ocsd.org.
