To get British students excited about World Book Day, schools have students dress up and come to school as their favorite fictional characters. Much to the surprise of everyone, one 11-year-old showed up dressed as Christian Grey, the kinky, S&M-loving billionaire from “Fifty Shades of Grey.”

Liam Scholes was sent home Thursday from Sale High School in northern England when teachers felt his suit, eye mask, and cable ties were not appropriate for school.
Liam’s mother, Nicola Scholes, thinks the costume is perfectly fine, as Liam’s classmates know ’50 Shades’ from the constant media coverage, saying that Liam “walked into school yesterday and every child knew who he was.”
