
A man was arrested on Tuesday after authorities found 1,800 marijuana plants being cultivated inside a Yucca Valley home.
Investigators from the Sheriff’s Gangs / Narcotics Division-Marijuana Enforcement team served a search warrant at a residence on Desert Gold Drive in Yucca Valley about 2:30 pm. They found the weed grow, advanced lighting, air conditioning, fans, exhaust blowers, and air filtering systems inside the house, according to a news release.

Investigators also determined that electricity going into the home was being stolen.

Yixian Chen, 53, was at the home at the time of the search and was booked at the Morongo Basin Jail on charges of Utility Theft and cultivation of Cannabis; over six plants.
