Two people took themselves to the hospital to be treated for injuries after a possible honey oil lab explosion in Palm Springs Tuesday morning.
A blast happened about 4 am, near Via Miraleste, according to KESQ.
Update: According to the Palm Springs Police Department, investigators concluded that the explosion was the result of a cigarette being lit during the manufacturing of a honey oil lab inside the apartment.
Two of the three occupants of the apartment drove themselves to a local area hospital. A 22 year old female suffered major injuries from the explosion. She is currently in stable condition.
A 25 year old male identified as Ryan Martin of Palm Springs suffered minor injuries and is believed to be the primary suspect in the manufacturing of the honey oil lab. Martin was arrested and booked into the Smith Correctional Facility in Banning.
A third involved party has been transported to a local area hospital for treatment and is still being questioned by investigators.
