Two women were arrested Thursday night after police say they tried to sneak meth into the Morongo Basin Jail in Joshua Tree.
Amy Simms, 43, and 59-year-old Alisa Henderson, both from Yucca Valley, were spotted by a deputy allegedly passing a coffee stirrer full of meth to 34-year-old inmate Brian Godden, reports KESQ.
According to a press release, Simms had attempted to pass the stirrer through the visiting room’s security glass.
Deputies searched the women and found more meth-filled straws in Simms’ possession.
They were both arrested on charges of conspiracy to commit a felony and for bringing narcotics into a jail facility. Godden was also charged.
