This marks the third year in a row that the record was set, the World Meteorological Organization announced Wednesday morning.
This means that 16 of the 17 hottest years on record have occurred since 2000 and now that Trump has picked a man who does not believe in global warming to run the Environmental Protection Agency, you can pretty much bank on more recording setting temps in the years to come.
