A woman is dead after a collision in Cathedral City on Sunday afternoon.
The crash happened about 5 pm at Date Palm and Gerald Ford, according to the Desert Sun. Cathedral City Police say that a small sedan collided with the rear of a flatbed tow truck about 5pm.
Itzel Contreras Ontiveros, of Cathedral City, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Date Palm Drive’s northbound lanes were closed for several hours for an investigation, notes KESQ. As of Monday morning, the lanes had reopened.
