Living in California gives you access to plenty of sunshine, good looking people, and things to do – but, it also gives you terrible traffic. But, if you can find a way to fix California’s traffic woes, Caltrans is prepared to offer you $25,000.
Caltrans'”$25K Find a New Way” contest is seeking solutions to improve California’s transportation system. The challenge is open to residents of California who are not current or retired State employees or their immediate family members.
The contest is also open to all ages – so if you are 5-years-old and have a solution, that is perfect. You just find a way to buy all of thus year’s new Star Wars toys.
Your entry needs to be under 500 words and you can include a one minute long video or Power Point. Submissions will be scored on the following criteria: innovation, potential benefits, and implementation. Deadline to enter is Oct. 13.
Redditors are already chiming in with their solutions with everything from hover cars to a 4-day work week to adding more lanes.
How would you solve California’s traffic problems? Let us know in the comments (note: I do not have $25,000 to give you).
