Over two dozen dogs are looking for a new forever home after they were turned over to animal control.
On Wednesday, Beaumont Animal Control officers seized 27 chihuahuas and terrier mixes along with three cats. The animals had been found to be living in deplorable living conditions, according to the agency, and their owner turned the pets over so they can be immediately adopted to new homes.
Officials say that despite living in deplorable conditions, the small dogs seem healthy and well socialized. All will be spayed or neutered by the San Jacinto shelter before going to their new homes.
