Deputies from the Morongo Basin Sheriff’s Station arrested a Twentynine Palms man on Wednesday after they say he fired several shots at the Best Western Motel.
Several bullet strikes were found on the east facing wall of the motel by officers, who were called to the motel a little before 3 am, according to a media release. Officers found evidence during the investigation that led the arrest of Derek Burns who was on felony probation.
Burns was booked at the Morongo Basin Jail for Shooting at an Inhabited Dwelling as well as Probation Violation.
