A sting operation in Cathedral City resulted in three store employees being cited for selling alcohol to minors.
The Cathedral City Police Department worked with the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control and used minor decoys to target multiple alcohol license-holders on Wednesday, according to KMIR. One employee each was cited at of Carniceria Rancho Grande, Outpost Market, and the 7-Eleven on Ramon Road.
Those cited face a minimum fine of $250, and/or 24 to 32 hours of community service for their first violation.
The ABC will also take administrative action against the alcoholic beverage license of the business where alcohol was sold to a minor – which may include a fine, suspension, or permanent revocation of the license.
