Four suspected gang members were arrested in connection with an assault that took place inside a Cathedral City business and left a victim with serious injuries.
The attack happened on Saturday at a business, that was not named, on Date Palm Drive. The victim in the assault suffered injuries to their face and upper body and was hospitalized, according to KESQ.
Three search warrants were served Tuesday at two locations in Cathedral City and one in Whitewater. They resulted in the arrest of Jose Mercado, 26, Juan Reyes Jr., 18, Daniel Mares Jr., 24, and a 14-year-old boy whose name was not released as he is a minor. All four are from Cathedral City.
Reyes, Mares and Mercado were booked on suspicion of assault with great bodily injury, second-degree burglary, false imprisonment and conspiracy. The teenager was booked into Juvenile Hall.
