You love yourself a good sandwich (heck, who doesn’t?). Luckily for you, the Coachella Valley has plenty of places serving up delicious sandwiches all around the desert from Palm Springs to Palm Desert to Indio to all spots in between.
The best sandwich spots are listed below in no particular order – and be sure to check out our guides for the best places in the Coachella Valley for:
Now on with the sandwiches!
TKB Bakery and Deli
TKB (or “The Kid’s Business”) is so damn good, Yelp keeps naming them to their best in the nation list. Seriously though The best…IN THE NATION! The Indio hotspot is well known for their menu which features incredible, piled-high sandwiches plus a bunch of tasty bakery treats.
TKB Bakery & Deli is located at 44911 Golf Center Parkway in Indio.
Real Italian Deli
The Real Italian Deli serves up incredible sandwiches at their two Coachella Valley locations. You can create your own or order one of their specials including “The Caprese” (Fresh Mozarella, Baby Greens, Tomatoes), “The Toscano” (Toscano Salami, Olive Tapenade, Lettuce, Tomatoes, Provolone), and “The Parma” (Prosciutto di Parma, Fresh Mozarella, Lettuce, Tomatoes).
Real Italian Deli is at 44795 San Pablo Avenue in Palm Desert and 100 South Sunrise Way, Palm Springs.
Wexler’s Deli
The insanely popular Los Angeles deli also has a spot in Palm Springs at the Arrive Hotel. Since opening in the fall of 2018, Wexler’s has been serving up classic Jewish deli food offerings, including house-smoked and hand-sliced meats and fish – and, yes, the pastrami is delicious af!
Wexler’s Deli, 1551 N Palm Canyon Drive, Palm Springs, (760) 507-1650
Bristol Farms
If you think a grocery store can’t make an amazing sandwich – you have never been to Bristol Farms. You won’t find processed turkey at their deli, oh no…they carve that meat right off of a newly roasted bird! In addition to the best turkey sandwich in the Desert, they also offer up a variety of other sandwiches including brisket, pulled pork, smoked chicken, and a really good banh mi.
Bristol Farms is at 73101 Country Club Drive in Palm Desert
Heirloom Craft Kitchen
This neighborhood spot in Indio makes everything fresh (and delicious!), plus they are just a couple blocks away from the Empire Polo Club – home to the Coachella and Stagecoach music festivals, so fest goers can be sure to have a rad meal before heading in. Locals know this spot for their delicious sandwhich options like the “Indio Cubano,” a delightful shrimp po’ boy, and a turkey sloppy joe. They also have a large number of vegan options on the menu and, hey, they also made our list of best happy hour spots in Indio.
Heirloom Craft Kitchen, 49990 Jefferson Blvd., Suite 100, Indio, (760) 773-2233
The Sandwich Spot
The Sandwich spot is partly hidden in back of a divey Irish bar (that you may remember was once Hair of the Dog), but once you find it – you will be going back again and again.
The menu at The Sandwich spot has a bit of everything including “The Chairman of the Board” (ham, salami, prosciutto, provolone, and Italian dressing), “But It’s a Dry Heat” (Chicken, Hot Sauce, Bomb Sauce, and Pepper Jack), and “The Sunny and Share” (Bacon, Lettuce, Tomato, and Avocado). Pro Tip: get the Dutch Crunch bread, it’d delicious!
The Sandwich Spot is at 240 N. Palm Canyon Drive in Palm Springs
Native Foods Café
Hey, not all good sandwiches have to be made with meat. Native Foods in Palm Springs does some truly incredible things with tempeh, seitan, tofu, and more. Feast on a bacon cheeseburger, bacon ranch chicken burger, or a reuben from Native Foods and you just might be tempted to go meatless (at least from time to time).
Native Foods Cafe is at 1175 E. Palm Canyon Drive in Palm Springs
Sherman’s Deli and Bakery
Guy Fieri stopped by this place for Triple D and he loved the turkey pastrami and brisket served in between latkes (!). The two locations, in Palm Desert and Palm Springs, have a plethora of sandwich options on the menu with everything from egg salad to salami available every day.
Sherman’s Deli and Bakery, 73161 Country Club Drive, Palm Desert, CA (760) 568-1350 / 401 East Tahquitz Canyon Way, Palm Springs, (760) 325-1199
