It’s the first weekend of 2018, all the madness and chaos of the Holidays are behind us, and now it’s time to relax (unless you still have that tree up, in which case, you should do that first). Looking for something more to do that just taking a well deserved nap this weekend? Here are five of your best options.
First Weekend – Friday

During “The Season” Palm Desert puts on events the first weekend of each month (of course, they don’t do this during the summer since the city seems to not care much about its full-time residents, but that’s something to discuss another time).
This time around, you can take a self-guided tour of El Paseo art galleries from 4-8pm on Friday, check out some classic cars around upper parking level of The Gardens from 3 to 6pm, and The Palm Springs Art Museum’s Palm Desert location is doing free admission from 4 to 9.
Sinbad – Friday

Dogs! – Thursday – Saturday
The Kennel Club of Palm Springs is holding a dog show from Thursday through Sunday at the Empire Polo Club in Indio. There will be loads of dogs battling it out for best in show plus plenty of vendors with canine treats, toys, and more. It’s $10 to park, but entry won’t cost you a thing.

Football!!! – Saturday and Sunday
Oh who are kidding. There’s a ton of NFL playoff football this weekend and you are planning on watching all of it. That’s cool. If you are headed out, here are some of the best places to go. If you really want to get into it, there are still tickets available to the Rams vs Falcons home game in Los Angeles Saturday night.
