Stand By Me
“Do you guys wanna’ go see a dead body?” The classic flick based on a Stephen King short story and starring River Phoenix, Kiefer Sutherland, and a chubby Jerry O’Connell is being shown on the great lawn at Sunnylands on Friday night. It’s free to watch and you are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets, and small picnic items for the outdoor screening. Gates open at 7:30, movie starts at 8pm.
Survivor
The band behind hits like “Eye of the Tiger” and “Burning Heart” takes to the stage at Vibe inside the Morongo Casino Resort Spa on Friday night at 10 pm. All tickets are $20 and if you could please refrain from screaming out, “Yo, Adrian!” – it would be appreciated.
Black Light Run
The brightest 5k of the year is happening Saturday night at the Riverside County Fairgrounds. Check-in and pre-party begins at 4:30, the race is at 7:30, and there is an after-party – with the event benefitting Christoper’s Clubhouse.
The Rock Yard
Van Halen fans will be stoked on the tribute band Atomic Punks who will be performing at the Rock Yard at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino on Saturday night along with the band Lifetime Rocker. The music starts at 7:30 pm on Saturday and the Rock Yard is always free to attend.
