5 Things to Do in Greater Palm Springs This Weekend

Oh joy. The temps are really starting to warm up in The Coachella Valley (forecast calls for 105 both Sat. and Sun.), so naturally your entertainment options are all starting to move indoors or just a bit outside of The Desert.

Here is what is happening this weekend:

Restaurant Week

Restaurant Week

Palm Springs Restaurant Week is back for another run.  This year’s version runs from Friday through June 7th.  The setup is pretty simple: local eateries offer a few 3-course meal options for either $26 or $38.  Advice: check out the menus before deciding where to go, as some places are offering much better choices than others.

Temecula Valley Balloon and Wine Festival

The balloon and wine fest is an annual tradition in Temecula and features both hot air balloons and wines (I know, if only they would say that in the title of the event). The 3-day festival also has beer, food, and plenty of live music – which this year includes Daughtry, Plain White T’s, Gloriana, and more. Tickets are anywhere from $18-$50, depending on how which day you pick (or how many days you pick). Also be sure to buy them online as they are more expensive at the gate.

LQ Wine is hosting a beer tasting from noon to 2 on Saturday. $10 gets you 15 samples from Babe’s Brewhouse, La Quinta Brewing Co, Coachella Valley Brewing Co., and Hangar 24. And it is not just about the brews, the event will also have pizza.

Lost Highway Festival

This one-day fest combines music, motorcycles, and camping at San Bernardino’s San Manuel Amphitheater. The lineup is an eclectic one including country, punk rock and rockabilly – with the headliners being Toby Keith and Social Distortion. There will also be an art exhibit, motorcycle show, and more.  Tickets start at $29.50.

Rock Yard

The Rock Yard at Fantasy Springs hosts Hollywood Roses, a Guns n’ Roses tribute, on Saturday night. As with all Rock Yard performances, the show is free and music gets started at 7:30pm.
