The residents of Joshua Tree are very musical people (heck, they even make songs to protest Dollar Generals), so it should not surprise you that the community is home to a 4-day music festival.   The eclectic fest happens at Joshua Tree Lake Campground and this year features The Polish Ambassador, The Last Internationale, and Subsuelo to name a few.  One day passes start at $60 and a four day pass will run you $200.

REO Speedwagon

They are not going to sleep, they are just gonna keep on loving you – cuz it’s the only thing they want to do…ooh…oooh. Neal Doughty and company head to Morongo Casino Resort on Friday night with tickets setting you back $60-$70.

Magic!

MAGIC

Morongo Casino is hosting a second concert on Friday as Magic! brings their hit song song “Rude” (and an exclamation point at the end of their name!) to Cabazon. The reggae fusion band out of Canada(!) play a 9pm show with all general admission tickets going for $29.

Indio Block Party

The City of Indio is celebrating birthday number 85 (yet the place does not look a day over 78) – so they are putting on a block party with a motorcycle show, classic car show, carnival rides, BBQ, kids activities, mini-train rides, art installations, live bands and even food trucks (What? Food trucks in The Coachella Valley?). The event is free and will run from 10am to 2pm in downtown Indio.

Kalin and Jinger

Mark Kalin and Jinger Leigh have been performing magic shows (not to be confused with the aforementioned Magic! show) for 15 years and they have gotten pretty good at it seeing as how they were named Magicians of the Year, by the prestigious Academy of Magical Arts, Hollywood’s Magic Castle.  Kalin and Jinger Present Real Magic, Saturday at 8pm at The Show at Agua Caliente Casino. Tickets are $30 – $60.
