If you are on Twitter and live in The Coachella Valley, then you know that while there are a lot of local accounts you can follow – not too many are actually worth your time. Too many people and companies link their Facebook posts to their Twitter feed (which then end up losing context and being really, really confusing) or send out a constant barrage of ads (no thanks!) – but there are a few that are worth following. Here are 5:
Desert Sun News
While The Desert Sun’s official Twitter feed can often include click-bait and promotional tweets, The Desert Sun News Feed is just that: a feed of local news stories:

Samantha Cortese
Not many of The Desert’s TV personalities are on Twitter (and some of the ones who are have a hard time with it), but Samantha is pretty active on Twitter with news, jokes, and behind the scenes stuff (even on a bad day):

Jerry Steffen
Jerry mixes in the occasional music related tweet or joke with his regular updates on Coachella Valley weather. If you want to know what is going on weather-wise in The Desert, he is on it…

Vanessa Franko
Since The Desert gets a lot of shows that are more geared towards your grandparents than you, it may require that you head out of town to see a good concert every once in a while. Vanessa obviously loves music and is usually the first to know what cool acts are headed to The Inland Empire:

Cactus Hugs
Because, of course.
