A 6.5-magnitude earthquake hit off the California coast on Thursday morning.
The trembler struck the ocean floor about 100 miles off the northern California coast, according to the the US Geological Survey.

The quake was centered about 102 miles west of Ferndale and hit about 6:56 am, reports KTLA.
Residents of northern California felt some light shaking and the quake was felt as far south as San Francisco.
