A Wyoming man is recovering after falling 25 feet while rock climbing in Joshua Tree National Park.

Tom Hurgis, 69, was in the Hidden Valley area of the park climbing when he fell, according to the Press Enterprise. He landed on a rock ledge and was unable to move.

Firefighters climbed to Hurgis and secured him into a rescue basket and he was taken away by helicopter to an ambulance.

He was then transported to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Mountain Project lists 20 different rock climbing routes in the Hidden Valley area.  There were no details which route Hurgis was on.
