The Big Game is coming up and, let’s be honest here, it’s one of the best days of the whole year! Football, great food, hanging out with friends and family without having to worry about a Christmas or Birthday gift, it’s the best. Well, unless you end up with a party with a tiny TV and no beer. To make sure your Big Game party is the best it can possibly be, follow these seven simple steps, brought to you by Stuft Pizza Bar and Grilll.
Prepare for a Very, Very Long Day
Between the pre-game, the commercials, the halftime show, and the actual football – it’s going to be a long afternoon into the night. Do something active in the morning so you don’t feel guilty about enjoying some good game day food and be sure to hydrate!
Invite the Right People
Nothing ruins a viewing party like someone who is loud, obnoxious, and won’t just shut up when everyone else is trying to watch TV. Host people that get it and that you want to hang out with for five to six hours. And, don’t extend in invite to Marci – who you know is just going to bring over a bottle of Two Buck Chuck and then drink all of your expensive wine and whiskey. No, instead invite Emma and her boyfriend who you know are going to not only bring plenty of good booze, but will also probably stop by Stuft Pizza and pick up Garlic Chicken Lettuce Wraps and Southwester Egg Rolls from Stuft Pizza because they are cool people and they get it.
Save Some Cash on Ice
Screw buying a bag of ice. Just fill up some water bottles and freeze them the night before. Then throw them in an ice chest and not only do you have cold drinks, you have ice-cold water by the end of the game to hand out.
Leave Out Plenty of Toilet Paper and a Plunger
Look. I know you don’t want to think about what is going on in there – so do this and, hopefully you will never have to know.
Order Your Food in Advance
You don’t want to spend the whole game in the kitchen cooking food for other people who will never understand how hard you are working to feed them, that’s what Thanksgiving is for. Instead, place an order with Stuft Pizza a couple of days in advance. Just give them a time you want your order ready, head to their fast and easy take-out window in either Palm Desert or La Quinta, and boom! – you are in and out with some delicious party food in no time at all.
Bonus Trick: Offer to pick up the food and sneak a craft beer or margarita in at the bar while you do. It will be our little secret.
Demand Everyone Buy In to a Pool
Most of the time, the game ends up being a blowout and then everyone is sad or bored by the end of the 3rd quarter. Have everyone kick into a pool or two to keep things exciting until the end. Don’t know how? Don’t worry, it’s easy.
Does it All Sound Like Too Much Work?
Not all of us are party hosts. If you already feel overwhelmed than just cancel plans to host the party at your place and reserve a table for your friends at Stuft Pizza. Heck, some will probably be so happy you took care of the planning, they will buy you a beer or two and you can all share in the good stuft while watching the game together on one of the many screens around the bar and restaurant.
