A 71-year old Yucca Valley man was tased by police on Monday afternoon after he allegedly stole beer from a Dollar General store and threatened the clerk.
Dewey Wood walked out of the store at 11 a.m. and walked out with a 12-pack without paying, according to Z107.7 fm.
A clerk for the store told Sheriff’s deputies that the man then returned to the store and told her he should punch her in the face. He also said that he had a gun and was not afraid to use it.
Shoppers in the store at the time also heard Wood’s threats.
Police tracked down Wood at a nearby mobile home park, where he fought with them until a deputy used a taser on Dewey.
Wood was taken to Hi-Desert Medical Center then arrested for making criminal threats.
