Last night’s “You Ask We Investigate” segment on KMIR featured a La Quinta Cove woman who is just tired of smelling marijuana in her backyard and claimed that is is now affecting her health(???).
KMIR News | Palm Springs, California
The investigation begins by meeting Denise:
“It smells like skunk and anybody who’s ever smelled marijuana knows what it smells like, it stinks,” explains Denise Pelligrini.
She says the person to blame is her next-door-neighbor, a tenant, someone she’s never met but knows lives there.
“It was occasional, but now it’s every day, every day we smell it. Sometimes if I step outside at 7:30 in the morning, I smell it,” says Pelligrini.
And Denise is not having it anymore:
She wrote a complaint letter to the homeowner, but never received a response.
“So I called La Quinta City Hall, they told me it was not illegal. Then, I called code enforcement in La Quinta and said it’s not illegal,” says Pelligrini.
Well, that sure is good to know for your next day off, but what about this neighbor? What does he or she have to say?
We tried to contact Pelligrini’s neighbor, but no one answered the door.
Hmmmm…wonder why?
While there was never any questioning how exactly the smell is actually affecting this woman’s health, it was another element to this investigation that I found interesting:
We can’t confirm if the smell Pelligrini is concerned about is in fact marijuana and whether or not her neighbor is using it for recreational or medical purposes.
Wasn’t that kind of the whole point of “investigating” tho?
