The ‘Foo Fighters’ Played a Surprise Set at a SoCal County Fair Using the Name ‘Chevy Metal’

County fairs are not known for hosting the best musicians in the world – however, this past weekend, fair goers in Thousand Oaks did not have to listen to an 80s band, one hit wonder, or tribute band. Instead, they got a surprise appearance by The Foo Fighters!

Dave Grohl, Taylor Hawkins, Chris Shiflet, and Rami Jaffe performed an 18-song set at Conejo Valley Days, a county fair in Thousand Oaks.

The band appeared under the name Chevy Metal (the name of Hawkins’ covers band) and played a pretty rad set of covers including AC/DC, The Knack, Van Halen, Billy Joel, and more.

Check out some videos of their set and hope that next year the band plays the Date Fest.

Whatever Rock and Roll Pizza payed for that banner over the stage, it was worth it!
