Fashion Santa (which is a thing that I had to grit my teeth to type) is not a replacement for Santa, he is also at the mall, but rather something the mall says is offered for a more “adult expeirence”.

“Fashion Santa doesn’t have a chair,” Mason told CBC News. “I often say I’m Santa’s younger brother — the thinner version.”
