A man was arrested in Cathedral City for stabbing two people on Monday night after a lengthy standoff with police.
Police responded to a call at 6 p.m. that Christian Jonathan Garcia, 20, had stabbed two people, reports The Desert Sun. A dozen police vehicles, including the Desert Regional SWAT team, were seen surrounding the home on Stafford Place for more than six hours. Shortly after midnight, Garcia walked out of the home and was arrested.
Garcia, according to the cops, stabbed one victim in the stomach and the other in the back of the neck. Both victims were taken to a nearby hospital and are in stable condition.
Police say that Garcia was under the influence of “an unknown substance.”
