A 35-year-old Yucca Valley woman was arrested early Wednesday morning on suspicion of biting her parents and threatening her father with a knife.

Laura Rose Hendrickson was booked on suspicion of child endangerment and assault with a deadly weapon, reports The Press Enterprise.

Police say that Hendrickson went to her parent’s house in Joshua Tree home before 1 a.m. Wednesday to see her 2-year-old child, who lives with her parents. Shortly after arriving, Hendrickson “began to act irrationally and began screaming at her parents” – at which point, Hendrickson’s 64-year-old father held the child as Hendrickson tried to pry the 2-year-old away from him.

Hendrickson then grabbed a knife, according to police, and threatened to stab her father while he was still holding the child. The father refused and that is when Hendrickson grabbed his arm and bit it causing a “severe wound”.

Hendrickson’s 59-year-old mother attempted to intervene, but Hendrickson bit her too, authorities say.

With her parents injured, Hendrickson grabbed the child and drove away from the home. But, she did not get far as deputies quickly pulled her over and arrested her.

There was no update on the status of her parent’s injuries.
