A 52-year-old Indio man was arrested after allegedly punching a Walmart employee while trying to rob the store.
Coachella Police Department were called to the Walmart Neighborhood Market, on Avenue 48 at about 6:30 p.m., reports KESQ. Authorities say that Alfonso Walls attempted to steal items from the store. When an employee confronted him, Walls punched them and fled. Officers found him in the area a short time later.
Walls was arrested for second degree felony burglary.
