Desert Hot Springs, which could really use some money, is now looking overseas for some cash for the city.
The Desert Sun reports on how some officials in DHS are looking to get their hands on some yuan:
City Council members Joe McKee and Russell Betts will serve on a new committee designed to work with investors from outside the United States.
Betts worked in China for years, and McKee recently visited the Chinese city of Dalian with the city’s public works manager and a planning commissioner. McKee said at a recent public meeting that Chinese investors are interested in Desert Hot Springs.
So other than what appears to be city funded trips to China for city employees and council members, what could this mean? What sort of things in Desert Hot Springs are those Chinese investors interested in? Wind? Meth? More wind? Leave your best guesses in the comments below…
