Reporter Alex Savidge was covering the train derailment story in Alameda County on Tuesday morning when, suddenly, a car barreled towards him and his photographer.
Chip Vaughan, Savidge’s hero photographer, yells, “get out of the way” to Savidge – who then dodges the sedan just in time.
In his next live shot Savidge was emotional as he said, “I am grateful to be ok, that’s all I can say.” He then hugged Vaughan.
Police believe the white sedan was turning right when it turned into the path of another car, reports KTVU. The vehicles crashed. Cops say they believe the woman in the white sedan may have hit the gas, instead of the brakes.
