A group of Good Samaritans saved a dog from hot car that was parked at Outback Steakhouse in Palm Desert on Wednesday night.
A tipster sent us these photos of the adorable pooch who was rescued by police from an SUV parked in front of the restaurant.
We are told a passerby noticed the dog was panting inside the vehicle and alerted a nearby business – who smartly called police (temperatures in Palm Desert reached into the low 90s on Wednesday).
When the officer arrived he was able to open the door as the window was rolled down just enough to reach into the car and rescued the animal – putting the canine into the air conditioned cruiser.
Eventually, the dog’s owner came out of Outback Steakhouse.
We are told the man in the white shirt was handcuffed and taken away in a police vehicle.
Just a few minutes in a hot vehicle can harm or kill your pet. Pets are not able to cool themselves down the way humans can – making them especially vulnerable to heatstroke. Even a just a few minutes left in a hot car can kill a dog.
In other words: don’t leave your pets in the car!!
